I scoured the Earth in search of you,
But nothing did I find.
And, since you scoured it for me, too,
We both became resigned.

We learned to live our lives alone
And thought that we’d grow old
In wrapping arms around a stone
To have a thing to hold.

Then fate decreed that we should meet –
No more nor less than that.
Since when, we’ve felt the burning heat
Where selfless love is at.

To think we might have carried on…
Our separateness, though, now is gone.
