The minute that we met;
My heart was filled with childlike glee
Which hasn’t emptied yet.
It isn’t that you met a need
Or satisfied a lack;
Instead, my native joy was freed,
And there’s no turning back.
And, though I know I went too fast,
Which made you shy away,
I still believe our love shall last
Forever and a day.
And yet, of course, that’s only true
