It hasn’t rained in days;
The garden’s getting dry.
And yet, for all I gaze,
No clouds loom in the sky.
And so I fill a can
With water from the tap
And do the best I can
To bridge the rainless gap.
I love the rain so much
I relish getting wet
And long to feel its touch –
The gentlest I’ve met.
And rain reminds me, too,
Of days I spent with you.
