And, once again, it’s cold tonight,
As back in former days,
When I had you to hold me tight
In warm and loving ways.
You said you’d always be the one
Who’d stand beside my side,
And never would your love be done
Till land began to slide.
Yet, all too soon, your love was dead;
I didn’t get the chance
To say the things I would have said
If you had kept your stance,
But, since you tired of love’s true form,
I’m left to keep my own self warm.
