And, when you heal the very pain
That made you twist your face,
Your sense of sadness starts to wane
And gladness takes its place.
And, though you’re but a one apart –
A small and meagre one –
Your transformation warms each heart
Like some undying sun.
And, from the corner of each room,
The light of day appears
And drives away the sullen gloom
That’s lurked there all these years.
And, all because you’ve turned the page,
There breezes in a brighter age.
