My state of mind’s no cause for pride;
I make such huge mistakes:
I leave the front door open wide
And burn both hands and cakes.
It used to be I could depend
On my unfailing brain,
But now it’s like a former friend
I’ll never see again.
I knew it from the very start
That it’d be this way;
“Both mind and body fall apart,”
I hear my reason say.
But, now the process has begun,
I’m wishing that it hadn’t done.
