And, rushing through the mile-high halls,
I’m dazzled by the sound
That bounces off the florid walls
And echoes all around:
A symphony of sighs and cries,
All interspersed with yells,
The sobbing of some long goodbyes,
The chimes of tiny bells;
And, through it all, I hear your voice –
A rich and ancient coo –
Which doesn’t leave me any choice
But love you through and through.
Each ear is like a brimful cup
That only spills when I wake up.
