And, from the point of view of me,
The world is nothing more
Than a single country and a sea
Connected by a shore.
Yet humankind divides the land
To satisfy its aims
And gives the sea to understand
It’s known by different names.
But land and sea just share a smile
And take it in their stride;
They know that, in a little while,
All humans will have died,
And then they’ll even see they’re one,
Both shone on by the selfsame sun.
