So now I see – at longest last! –
The sparkles in the wall!
Although I must have ridden past
A thousand times in all.
And yet I couldn’t help but miss
The beauty that was here;
My head was full of that and this –
Above all, greed and fear.
I must have turned a corner, though,
Or else I wouldn’t see
That which had always been on show
To everyone but me.
That now I share in such a sight
Is proof I’ve learned to love the light.
