How much you wish you’d stayed inside
and not gone out, today!
As such, you’d not have had to hide
Your clumsiness away.
And nothing would have gone awry –
At least, not caused by you:
The boundless, clear, majestic sky
Would still have been light-blue.
And yet you needn’t kid yourself;
If you had not done so,
You would have broken every shelf
Or dealt some other blow.
It seems you’re not a lot of good.
You’d like to change that if you could.
