Beauty

And, when you ask where beauty lies,
You find it everywhere –
Reflected in another’s eyes
And soaring through the air;

A glinting on a smallish pond
As well as in the dew;
And there in every leaf and frond
And perfect petal, too.

The place, though, beauty’s always found
Is in your very core;
It’s there your sense of being’s crowned
And brings you to the core.

And yet it’s often you lose sight
Of your eternal, inner light.
