Silence

And all is still between your eager ears;
The clamour that you used to know is gone.
Although it kept you company for years,
You shall not hear its tumult further on.

That fills you with a lively sense of loss;
You liked to have its busyness around;
That helped to get your point of view across
That life was solely made of awkward sound.

And yet the unfamiliar peace of mind
Is that to which your passion could get used,
So, in the end, you’re pleased to leave behind
The wretched wreck to which you’d been reduced.

And, in the early hours of each new day,
You dance along the dewdrop-spangled way.
