The stars are all just sitting there
Like flies upon a wall,
And not one’s going anywhere;
They cannot leave the All.
And yet you’re ranging in your mind
Beyond both time and space,
And, leaving everything behind,
You move at quite a pace.
And then you make a cup of tea
Like none you’ve ever made
And think you’d like to plant a tree
And go and fetch your spade.
And, in the vastness of the night,
You dig a hole that’s full of light.
