And patterns are the only things
That put your mind at ease,
And be that interlocking rings
Or offset fleur-de-lis.
The sense of order they convey
Puts chaos in its place
And sets you on the shortest way
To balance, style and grace.
And, though you know it’s not like this;
Life’s messy through and through,
You’re glad to have that sense of bliss
That patterns cause in you.
For, take away each line and shape,
The world would offer no escape.
