Frustration

If life had offered you the life
That you’d been hoping for,
You could have put an end to strife
And danced along the shore.

You could have spoken to the crowds
In words both wise and just
And held your head above the clouds
Of beauty, truth and trust.

But, as it is, you’ve spent your time
In every way but one
Like someone pure whose only crime
Is walking in the sun.

As such, you’ve never known release
From wishing you could rest in peace.
