Jupiter

Another world so very far away
Reflects the light of some unnoticed sun
And pricks the sky before the break of day,
Thus causing rivulets of blood to run.

And soon the dawn shall stretch its balanced hand
And smear the gore across the canvas east,
And lights return to such a nighted land
As one that seems to have deserved it least.

And Jupiter is lost from naked view.
It’s not as if it’s simply vanished, though;
It’s present in the very heart of you
And tags along wherever you may go –

The solar system’s largest world by far,
Outshining every single burnishing star.
