My Lady Chenille

Sitting at the head of a very long table, My Lady Chenille was pushing around the food on her plate with a fork. Suddenly, with a smashing of wood and a shattering of glass, a young man crashed in through the window, and, before My Lady knew what was happening, he was standing at her side. Then, as quickly as he’d entered, he fell to his knees before her.
“My Lady,” he said, “if you knew how long I’ve been looking for you, you wouldn’t waste any time but come away with me at once.”
She looked at him with the beginnings of a smile playing around the corners of her mouth.
“Of course I’ll come with you,” she said. “But let me finish my meal first.”
And, with that, she ate with a heartier appetite than she’d known in years.
