Primordiality

I hear the cosmos in me roar
But don’t feel scared, one bit,
Since nothing that I’ve heard before
Can match the tone of it.

It sounds as good as flowers look,
As fresh as oceans smell –
As if each word in every book
Comprised a single spell.

I’m overjoyed to give it ear;
The smile won’t leave my face.
It spans the gap between what’s here
And what’s in deepest space.

Like birdsong on a summer’s day,
It conjures all my cares away.
