Marvel at a spider’s web,
And gaze in wonder at the sky.
Revere the ocean’s lowest ebb,
But don’t ask God the reason why.
The question presupposes that
A purpose goes before each thing,
But that’s not where the truth is at;
God isn’t like a piece of string.
He doesn’t have a start or end;
Such thoughts are only in the mind,
And it’s too small to comprehend
A notion which can’t be defined.
The best response is just to say
God’s boundless love is here at play.
