Of course I’m right to question
The form of my employment
And brush off the suggestion
It ought to bring enjoyment.
That’s not because it’s boring
Or way beneath my station,
Or else the pay’s deploring,
And there’s no validation.
The world of work’s delusive –
At best, a mere distraction –
As such, it’s not conducive
To bringing satisfaction.
The only thing that’s going
To be enough is knowing.
