Everybody’s mind’s alike;
There isn’t one that’s not:
We all would dearly love to strike
The iron when it’s hot.
But then we end up making do
With iron cold as ice
And taking pains to see right through
What’s veiling paradise.
The trouble is the human mind
Is fundamentally flawed:
It jumps ahead and lags behind;
It’s bored or overawed.
Although the mind is in a spin,
Awareness offers peace within.
