I wait and wait and wait and wait,
And, when I’m through, I wait some more
To learn the nature of my fate
And find out what life’s got in store.
And so I let each day go by,
Anticipating what will be,
When, all at once, let out a cry
On seeing I’ve been fooling me.
My fate is that which now transpires!
What life has got in store is this!
I feel like one nobody hires
Who realises what’s amiss.
So now I no more wait to know
But gorge myself on what’s on show.
