Enlightenment (2)

Enlightenment’s no more the goal
To which the journey leads
Than wrapping paper round your soul
Can satisfy your needs.

A single step along the way,
It’s much like all the rest:
Important, as is every day,
By no means, though, “the best”.

Applying that which has been learnt
Outshines the light by far:
You’d lose your bearings if it weren’t
And not know who you are.

So don’t be dazzled by the light,
But use its strength to do what’s right.
