Light

And, in the midst of deep despair,
When inner conflict gets the grease,
I don’t become but am aware
My basic nature’s joy and peace.

As such, there’s nothing that I need;
My every wish is self-fulfilled,
And, now contentment’s guaranteed,
The winds of fear and lack are stilled.

And so the light of truth and love
Can shine in both my heart and eyes,
As spotless as the Holy Dove
And sharp enough to cut through lies.

And now I need no other plan
Than live my life the best I can.
