There’s nothing more to human life
Beyond that which appears,
And all the heartache, joy and strife
Go on between the ears.
Behind the veil, though, of what seems,
There stands a shining face,
The eyes of which are like two gleams
Illuminating space.
Yet, all too often, I get caught
In thinking life is real:
I get depressed, distressed, distraught –
Whatever’s fake, I feel.
I wish that I were more aware;
I’d take that over love and air.
