Sleep (2)

And, since I’ve made my peace with sleep,
I’ve changed beyond all measure;
Instead of being on the cheap,
My days are filled with treasure.

I see the good in everyone
And marvel at their beauty,
And, when there’s something to be done,
I’m glad to do my duty.

I carry out my daily chores
With love and understanding:
I make the bed and sweep the floors
And watch the world expanding.

Although it hardly merits stressing,
A good night’s sleep’s a mighty blessing.
