There’s something in the wind, tonight,
And, on the dewy lawn,
A pair of stripeless tigers fight
To see who’ll greet the dawn.
A mirror’s floating on a lake,
And both reflect the stars
And, in the moon’s translucent wake,
Ride Jupiter and Mars.
A candle’s burning on the grave
Of all that’s good and dear,
While Castor and his brother rave,
“Well, what do you want here?”
But I am neither here nor there;
Like consciousness, I’m everywhere.
