Dress Sense

It used to be it hurt –
And that not just a bit –
When I’d put on a shirt
But none would notice it.

I felt myself betrayed
That others failed to see
I was so well-arrayed
As ever one could be.

But, nowadays, I know
That no amount of praise
Can bring me high or low
Or make me change my ways.

As such, what shirt I wear
Is neither here nor there.
