Although life’s never done me wrong,
I’ve fallen on my face
And had to struggle all along
To keep up in the race.
I’ve slithered on a rain-slick road
And skidded on black ice,
And, when I switched to safety mode,
I always paid the price.
As much I would like to say
Life isn’t hit and miss,
It seems that there’s no other way;
It’s always been like this.
And so, despite my broken jaw,
I learn to smile at every flaw.
