It’s not that God is “over there”;
The thought alone’s absurd!
And so it can’t be reached by prayer
Or some soft-spoken word.
Instead, it’s key to recognise
That all there is at all
Is that that’s looking through your eyes,
And be it great or small.
So there’s no need to change your ways
Or mix it up one bit;
The life you lead is full of praise,
And God’s the source of it.
Since all’s as holy as can be,
You can’t but be a devotee.
