God’s Face

I can’t imagine getting bored
Or calling it a solemn duty,
When I’m quite happy to record
The face of God in all its beauty.

I see it everywhere I go –
The valley floors and mountain passes –
And find it in each flake of snow
And all the trees and wayside grasses.

And yet it wouldn’t be God’s face
If it were bound by limitation,
And so it’s found in every place,
Not just Creation’s variation.

Each chain-link fence and basement flat
Is proof if proof’s required of that.
