As one of those who dream by day,
I’ve got no sense at all
But live my life in such a way
That knows no fence or wall.
I walk along and smile and sing
Without a single care
And taste the joy the hedgerows bring
And greet each insect there.
Then, entering the woods I love,
I lie down on the floor
And watch the boughs sway up above
Until they sway no more.
And then I take a shaded lane,
And, in my dream, it starts to rain.
