I know I’m seeking peace
In everything I do –
If watching droves of geese
Or following a ewe.
And, though I seldom smile
And hardly ever laugh,
I walk a country mile
And lean upon my staff.
And, when my journey ends
As all such journeys must,
I’ll meet up with my friends –
The ashes and the dust.
Then peace shall reign supreme
As in a golden dream.
