Two nights we’ve been together
And sung love’s sweetest song,
And now I’m wondering whether
You’ll stay your whole life long,
Or if you’ll be returning
To one who needs you so –
The fact which stopped you burning
That bridge a year ago.
It’s true that I don’t need you,
But what’s a man to do?
You don’t need me to feed you
When you can do that, too.
And yet my heart‘s on fire
With ever more desire.
