Strength

I’m happy now my world caved in,
But, at the time, of course
I kicked up such an awful din
And screamed till I was hoarse.

I’d leant my ladder on a cloud,
And so to have it fall
Reminded me it’s not allowed
To do such things at all.

But now I’ve built my world anew,
And, though it’s taken time,
The fact I’m loved by one like you
Is better than sublime.

And, even if we disagree,
That won’t bring down my world on me.
