Declaration of Love

And, even if you’re hurt,
You take it with good grace.
Though “friends” treat you like dirt,
A smile still spans your face.

And, down through all the years,
When someone’s done you wrong,
You’ve banished all your fears
And learned to get along.

But, Darling, not with me;
With me, you can be you.
And, if you’re all at sea,
Then you can show it, too.

You see, I love you so
I give you room to grow.
