Dominion

You’re standing in the open door;
I never saw a sight
Which was designed to teach me more
Of beauty, joy and light.

And, best of all, you’re unaware
Of your effect on me;
You think you’re simply standing there
As calmly as can be.

But rest assured that wars are fought
For less than what you’ve got,
And men as free as birds are caught
And tied up in a knot.

What chance I have, I wish I knew;
I’m anyway in love with you.
