Learning

And, where I learned the things I “know”,
I find it hard to say –
Between the mists of long ago
And somewhere far away.

And some are right and some are wrong,
But all are incomplete;
I know the lyrics to the song
But can’t recall the beat.

And yet I say the things I do
And lead my tongue a waltz,
And that regardless if they’re true
Or couldn’t be more false.

In fact, I shouldn’t say a word
Since truth is seen but never heard.
