Moonlight

I’ve never seen the moon this bright,
Which only goes to show
That I’m more sensitive to light
Than I was years ago.

I mean, it’s not as if the sun
Was sending stronger rays,
Or, otherwise, the moon’s the one
That’s more agleam, these days.

Instead, it’s me who’s turned around
The darkness in my youth,
In that, at longest last, I’ve found
The one resplendent truth:

God’s being shines in everything –
Both love and peace, and suffering.
