Acceptance (2)

I’m sad to say I’ve loved too much
And now must pay the price
Of longing for a human’s touch
To enter paradise.

And yet I’m standing at your gate
And have to learn to cope
With knowing that it’s not my fate
To hold out any hope.

And so I’ll wander on my way
And manage on my own
And try to disregard that day
Before I turned to stone.

But, well I know, my only fault
Was never wanting love to halt.
