Remnant

And, ever since your lightning struck,
I haven’t been the same;
Despite the fact I’m out of luck,
I always win each game.

I smile although I don’t know why
Or what I’m smiling at.
Above me, there’s the bluest sky,
But I call it my hat.

And so I wonder how I’d be
If only you had stayed.
Your leaving, though, has made me see
I didn’t make the grade.

And yet the fact you thought I might
Surrounds me with a both love and light.
